This is one of my favorite scenes from Rubicon. Tanya, a smart intelligence analyst at a thinktank, initially puts up a wall, but finally breaks down. The transition and the representation of her mental state is breath-taking. I have no first-hand experience with a situation like this, but I felt like it very realistically describes what it's like when you have an unspeakable and insurmountable problem in your life (whether it's depression, addiction, damaging relationship, oppressive work environment, etc.)
