First of a set of old crusty replays from 2002, of R-Type Delta No Power-ups stage practice runs, recorded to accompany a player's guide. These use the R-X ship.
An important note: it is only possible to do a start-to-end run of R-Type Delta with no power-ups using the R-X ship, as it is the only ship that can attack behind (a limited distance) without power-ups. This is only possible by using a double-power beam at point-blank range to either an enemy or a wall, the resulting round blast can hit things just behind you. The shockwave from single power and double power beams can hit things behind walls, as well.
Also, rank (in-game difficulty) is influenced by the powered up state of the ship - having no power-ups results in a slightly lower rank, meaning weaker enemies and slightly less bullets.
All stage clips in this set are recorded on Normal difficulty.

Playing without the Force? That's rough. But the RX is a great ship for a no powerup run. The wave cannon is powerful, and the AoE blast is great for taking care of enemies around you.
