Ive Got Dreams to Remember was originally released as the first track from The Immortal Otis Redding, a posthumous album from soul artist Otis Redding.
This particular recording is from the 1992 album Remember Me, a 22-track collection of previously unreleased outtakes and rarities recorded between 1963 and 1967. Reddings first two attempts (take 1 & 2) at his classic (Sittin On) The Dock of the Bay appear as Tracks 15 & 16. Among some of the odds and ends are Redding's only attempt at a "dance craze" song ("The Boston Monkey") and a musical public service announcement ("Stay In School"). Another treasure is this oft-rumored rendition of the achingly poignant "I've Got Dreams to Remember" featuring unique lyrics by Redding's wife Zelma Redding.
