Pneumonia Song (translation in video description)

This video shows some of the dozens of HHF health agents singing "The Pneumonia Song."

Like many of HHF's public health initiatives, this song focuses on educating a population with low levels of literacy in rural southwest Haiti about the symptoms and treatment of a disease (in this case, pneumonia) This song helps people identify and seek treatment for the leading cause of child deaths in Haiti and around the world.

HHF's programs that incorporate these types of education programs have significantly reduced maternal and childhood diseases such as pneumonia over more than two decades. HHF credits its grassroots, community-based programs for these successes!

That can kill your children.
If you see your children breathing hard or coughing go to the dispensary!

I.
PNEUMONIA is a serious illness.
If you wait and see, you will lose your child.
If you see they get sicker after you leave the dispensary,
you need to return quickly to the dispensary.

Fathers, help mothers!
It is not only for mothers to get care for children-
When you have PNEUMONIA or another illness,
if they do not receive care,
they will easily die.
