Took a trip to Switzer falls now that Hwy 2 is open there is more to see! The falls were flowing pretty well. We noticed some of the punchbowls below the falls where people used to jump are filled with sand now. Tons of wildflowers and biting flies :)

  • How hard was it to get up to the upper falls?

  • @tonycns Its pretty easy, once your at the lower falls just climb up the north side (right side heading Upstream) of the canyon past the lower falls and hike about a tenth of a mile to its base. There are some little cliffs above the lower falls so stay on your toes : )

  • Nice shots David.

  • @Zoexena Thanks

  • A Arroyo Toad? Anyhow, it is nice to know wild lives of the Switzer Fall area was spared from the late fire!

  • @tytytji I think its a treefrog but I am not an expert.

  • @davidsquall351 they were a family that home steaded up there. the father was well known and the last two sons, named brown mountain after their father

  • @PHARRAOH I know we saw an old 30's ford down in the canyon. Who were the Browns?
