  • I guess most of his fans wouldn't be able to relate to that kind of stuff. why change a winning formular if it's enabled you to afford "massive mansions, 5 star resorts and the most expensive of everything"

I'm sure people who like to hear artists sining about this sort of thing generally gravitate to hip hop artists who rap about there latest purchases.

Obviously both formulas have work but I'd think it's a bit late in the game for such a radical change from Springsteen.

  • @mrchappelow3 no offense but I bet Bruce spells and we all know he writes better than you do and you OBVIOUSLY do not know his music or a thing about him or his music or you would know how outragous you sound with this comment - don't listen to him if you don't like him. Bruce can change any song he has done previously and it will still sound good. Always.

  • @Deneised the bits in quotes were what they person before me wrote, my spelling may be bad but I am a huge bruce fan

  • Kudos to Bruce for writing such a sad, eerie, yet beautiful song. It's waaaay underrated.

  • First of all, if you hate him so much, stop wasting your time and go comment on how much you love the Jonas Brothers videos.

Second, for your information he lives on a very modest property compared to other celebrities, always preferring to keep under the radar. He lived in a cruddy little house during Born to Run, and during Nebraska it was a little apartment. Hes never sold out or given into the rich life. Do a little research dumbass.

  • What a song. Magic the guy is just magic!

  • bruce will always be the boss nuff said !! the man is a modern day working class hero !! and no im not american but i know genius when i hear it from the born to run and welcome to astbury park new jersey your hometown bruce to today you are a true poet !!

  • @OlymPigs2010 Exactly! Because Roger Waters had worms in his brain during The Wall album, right?

  • Springsteen with his voice inflections and sheer passion transform a great song into something amazing. Roy Bittan on the piano is something to behold. This is hands down the greatest version of this song i have ever heard.

  • just another anthem on an album of anthems that make you listen twice and say wo..... aiint this shit true.

  • Simply the BOSS! :)

  • simply the Boss! :)

  • @OlymPigs2010 First of all he wasn't always famous. He grew up in a Working Class family. And no one wants 2 sing about that. And he duznt really care about the money and the fame. If he did he wouldnt have made the following albums: Greetings from Asbury Park, The Wild Innocent and the Estreet Shuffle, Darkness on the edge of town, Nebraska, Tunnel Of Love, Lucky Town, Human Touch,Ghost of Tom Joad, Devils and Dust, or We Shall Overcome.

  • So, I've been going through a whole load of Darkness stuff - the documentary, the album, the notes, everything about it.

This should could/should have been on it - would have fit in with the theme.

  • Brussseeeeeeee ti amo!!
