Sometimes I do use a short bungee between the lead clip and the harness.
I work as hard as my dog. We are directly connected so we usually maintain constant tension on the line. We have logged over 8000 miles together in the last 8 years.
@G13Xtrem Thanks, I like your video. The only way I feel confident on challenging terrain on my mountain scooter, is with a retractable lead attached to a waist belt. The lead slides laterally on the top bar of the handlebar and never gets caught with slack in the front wheel. Also all force is transferred to me and can't affect my steering.
nice ingeenering stuff, looks working well, but an other point is your lead isn"t elestic ? an elastic line with spinrgs is much moore confortable and safe for your dog back.
