@chavrons1 Just because someone doesn't "feel" this particular song, doesn't mean they're unable to feel empathy for other songs they can relate to. That's a personal opinion, not a fact. But you're right, you may very well take something deep from it, and that's good. All I'm saying is if you look at the statistics and the demograph of people who like the music you'll see she doesn't have much support, and I believe there to be some very legitimate reasons behind it.

I would say where is the development of Empathy in teens ???
Those unable to feel empathy, would not be able to feel the heart in the song. There is no difference to Johnny Farnham singing at 19 with catchy lyrics to when we were teens or Elvis Presley bullied for singing at 13. The only difference in this generation is the advance of social networking and the large number of kids who believe bullying is okay.

For a start. Cyberbullying is a huge problem no one can deny that. Many teens would be able to relate to it. The music is deep and inspiring. Perhaps not to you, but for many others. The message in the song, is no matter how good your talent, not matter how hard you try, don't let the bullies prevent you from achieving in life.
-
It also depends what type of music you like. Empaths are more prone to like that type of music that does inspire them. Yet to other people, they prefer Heavy Metal Music. Others prefer Rapp Music. Empaths hate violence. Many are brought up not to swear, so a lot of the Rapp music wouldn't appeal to them. The song Friday though although it didn't suit her voice, she still played the part of the meaning in the song and i have heard some really great kids singing it well. Not many could relate lyc

It depends on all individual people. To me the lyrics in the song have very true deep meaning. Yet to other's they wouldn't understand them. To others they can relate to what she is singing about. Yet at the age of 14 she has a way to go to develop into a much greater singer. Look at Elvis Presley at the age of 13, he was bullied at school for singing. If anyone bothered to really listen to her sing the National Antham, she does have a great singing voice. At her age it just needs guidance.
-
@chavrons1 Well that may be true, but then what does that say about the music industry? It's about business. She may sing good and that whole auto tune thing helps, but where's the heart in the music? Sure she is successful, not a bad voice, but the music is unoriginal and uninspired, from my perspective anyway. I mean do you think she'll be successful 5 years down the road, what else could she possibly sing? About her "Haters"? Come on now. It may be catchy, but there's not much depth.

Nice sunglass burn.

Agree with you. She is most def a house hold name & I hear "it's Friday" sung all the time & it cracks me up because it comes from the most unlikelyhood of people.:D
You like Kesha. You like Rebecca Black.
I'm ashamed of my generation. Go listen to actual talented bands like The Strokes or Arctic Monkeys.
