  • its not catmint or catnip, will this bitch adopt me?

  • @hightimeswithkyle Not if you use bad language!

  • I was just playing this video and Maow heard it and came running down the stairs! Such a good kitty!

  • Did you grow the catnip? My cat eats every plant I've ever tried to grow.

  • No, I have catmint growing wild. I bought this in the herb section of the healthfood store.

  • Good job Mao.

  • Grin. He's one smart kitty!

  • definatly not the same thing. some cats are attracted to 'catnip' as it is associated to play/training as kitten. NEPETA, or cat mint in the garden, attracts your cat, no matter what season or part of plant used. It can be diced and added to food, or 'tinctured' and ad few drops to H2O, separate from usual H2O source. Cats will only take minimal.......self dosing.

  • My cat goes nuts over catmint and pays no mind to catnip.

  • Mao is such a sweet kitty! Thanks for posting!

  • OH YEAH--Who's yer Daddy!! MAO KNEW right away which was the real deal!!Catnip and Catmint are NOT the same plant!! The catmint is way prettier with beautiful blue flowers and spreads! The odd cat will eat catmint---but most leave it alone!! The catNIP grows taller with whitish flowers and is kind of scraggly!But--cats go NUTS for it!! Sometimes they will eat a whole catnip plant to the ground the day after I plant it! The catNIP has a sharper--I think unpleasant smell! Which-- cats adore!

  • I think it comes down to the freshness of the plant, also which part of the plant maybe. My cat goes wild over fresh growing catmint for sure, she seems to chew - but not eat - the flowers.

Whatever it is in catmint/nip that turns them on, we can't smell it.
