After stripping this pressure treated deck, we sealed it with an oil based finish. One heavy coat is all that is needed. Horizontal surfaces are always brushed. Spindles are sprayed two coats and handrails recieve three brush coats. Although this sealer absorbs quickly and can be walked on in a matter of minutes, it takes about two weeks to cure. Maintenance coats are very easy. Just wash the deck to remove any dirt and mildew and apply another coat. This sealer, unlike most, will never blister, peel, or show lap marks. • Do you do this annally or as needed? I guess this is done to make the logs stay longer than the expected number of years? Am I right?
