McNerney addresses congress about the mathematics of E8.

As our laws deal more and more with economic issues, scientific issues, and technical issues, the lawyers who abound in Congress are less and able to make intelligent decisions. Of course it would help if they read them. I really don't think Jerry understands E8, and I rather doubt that E8 is going to make an improvement in our "human condition". A good healthcare plan that was not based on government bureaucracy? Now that WOULD help our human condition.

This guy wants to be associated with the calculations of E8, yet he can't understand the 11.7 Trillion debt we are under and votes to add another 2 trillion in debt this year.

He is speaking to the same kind of people who tried to make a law saying that pi=3 .

Why? Because pi being an irrational number, was too hard for them to understand. So they tried to make a new law that it should be exactly 3.

Also... I like the way he stresses "POWER", in his speech. Hinting that they want to use a theory of everything, to develop new quantum weapons, probably to destroy the entire Universe this time, instead of just nuking a city.
