The lower on the Ruger MK I, II, III's and 22/45 are not the serialized/controlled portion the upper receiver is. The Ares 22RCU is registered as a Long gun. No NFA rules ar violated. This was the issue w/the 1911/Glock carbine conversuions odf some years ago. As the grip frame was the controlled part and after conversionwas technically not supposed to be converted back to handgun form.

Actually I was wrong. The tubular receiver is the serialized component so the upper is considered a firearm.

Pray tell ARES is a Pistol legal in this config.

Wonder what the BATF thinks about changing that RIFLE back to a pistol? HMMMMMMMM? The games that get played legally. I know a TC contender pistol that is turned into a carbine MAY NOT be changed back into a pistol again afterwards. At least legally.

Awesome. I imagine that's great for hunting small game like squirrels.
Where can you get one? I checked online and gunbroker - NOTHING!

Your best bet is probably to contact Ares Defense. You can Google their website, they have a sales e-mail listed. Hope this helps.
