Juliette Lewis & Eve sing "I Will Survive" (Live in Detroit)

Detroit rock & roll hotspot 313.jac at Jacoby's has hosted the best up-and-coming acts for over a decade, seeing all sorts of happenings like Jack White leaping onstage with the Waxwings to sing backup and Kid Rock holding court.

On Friday, August 9, 2008, Jacoby's played host to a particularly unique happening as Hollywood invaded in the form of the cast of the roller derby film "Whip It", including star/director Drew Barrymore, stars Ellen Page, Juliette Lewis, Eve, Zoe Bell, indie popster Landon Pigg and Jimmy Fallon as well as many derby girl cast members.

Following sets by Detroit-area acts I, Crime, Rogue Satellites, and Satori Circus, an impromptu jam broke out as Juliette Lewis & Eve took to the stage and performed the disco anthem "I Will Survive" backed by I, Crime guitarist/vocalist Jennie Knaggs and drummer Charlie McCutcheon (who took over from Zoe Bell's initial stint behind the kit). After a wobbly start, it turned into a unique performance that made up in fun what it lacked in polish.

Actually, views are coming from all over the place because of club, the musicians featured, as well as the celebrity participants. There's a Zoe Bell fan blog that has posted both videos, so quit flattering yourself that you're a prime traffic driver.

To them, it IS a "religion" and while you or I may have our own issues with their practices, THIS IS NOT THE FORUM FOR ATTACKING THEM!!! Some people hate ALL religions - their comments will be deleted, too.

This isn't "A Scientologist and a Muslim go into a bar..." video, it's a "Famous musician/actors cutting loose and having fun" video.

What does that make me? Someone who isn't going to tolerate off-topic comments on my videos. Eve is a Muslim and I won't permit negative attacks on her faith either.

This does not imply an endorsement of any of the participants' religious practices but a statement that such comments are not appropriate in this context. If someone posts, "I love Juliette because she is a Scientologist!", that's getting deleted, too.

Bash the video or diss the singing if you must, but leave religion out of it.
