  • Sling Blade is quite obviously his best

Bad Santa is also an utter classic

A Simple Plan is incredible, but not in those other two's league--those other two are so original its like they came from Mars

'Plan' is a theme that has been done before, effect of greed among conspirators, paranoia, what is true wealth etc.

Sling Blade's theme is summed up in two lines from the film 'I got no reason to kill nobody'&'He always thinks of the simplest things first'

It may be wrong to kill people, but there's no denying that the world is better off without some people. Guys like Doyle are poison and no good even to themselves.

The movie presents a problem: what to do about Doyle? Carl is 'simple' enough to see the obvious solution

not the only theme in 'Blade'-there's redemption for Carl, seeing himself in the boy and saving him from similar abuse to what he himself suffered

That Carl's redemptive act is murder, is paradoxical and why 'Blade' is so brilliant

  • Best movie with this guy in it is "One False Move" (@ 1990). Check it out.....I think

he wrote it too. Drug dealers/killers on the run.

  • #1 Sling Blade

    #2 A Simple Plan

How in the world did "Bad Santa" make #1 when the other two movies were so well written and thought out!

  • i think mr.woodcock should be in there

  • lol i like the last scene about the kid getting dropped on his head! lol

  • I agree, as far as his dramatic films go, Sling Blade should be #1, followed by A Simple Plan and then Chrystal. I can't wait to see his movie about Floyd Collins. It's a bizarre story, and it's the kind that I think it's the kind of role that will get him a lot of attention.

  • A SIMPLE PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
