The 6254 monasteries that were the living repositories of over a millennia of higher Tibetan civilisation were destroyed.
Their treasures were shipped to China or melted down into bullion or bullets.
All the Scriptures were burned. Wood was literally taken from monasteries to be used in the construction of in Chinese military camps.
Then the buildings themselves were dynamited and subjected to artillery shelling by the PLA.

As per prc own statistics the population of so called Tibet Autonomous Region is 2.5 million. Four millions Tibetan live in Amdo and Kham which were attached to Sichuan, Yunan, Gansu and Qianghai.
If it was mud and tent then why did Chinese come to Tibet in 1950. Just to settle millions of Han Chinese who bread like rodents.
Just go back and leave us alone.

How could be 1.2 million tibetans killed in tibet if there were only 1.3 million people including nontibetans/han chineses,oirat mongols,dungans/in tibet in 1953!
How could be destroyed 6000 monasteries if in tibet including for one man mud house were around 2000 and most of them live in tents moving after their yaks!

Hey this is nothing compared to what Chinese killed 1.2 millions Tibetans since 1950.
Thats 20% of Tibetan population. Destroyed over 6000 monastery and left only 13.
