The Co-operative Magazine presents a food preparation video from our professional chef on how to make perfect homemade burgers that won't fall apart as soon as you put them on the barbecue or grill - which is often a problem.
Using egg to bind the mixture, and breadcrumbs to lock in the moisture, and more importantly the flavour, are both key ingredients, and if the texture is too runny from the egg, more breadcrumbs can be added to balance the consistency.
Other ingredients include very finely chopped chilli, garlic, onion and whatever else you fancy such as horseradish and ketchup in this recipe - it's a great food to experiment with and stamp your mark on.
