Governor Tim Pawlenty is asked about his opposition to teacher salary increases and should the same logic be applied to billions of dollars in bonuses for banking and executives whose companies had to be bailed out by the US Government. Pawlenty says the government should not have a say in compensation, even when the government is providing the money to pay those bonuses.

  • The title of this video is rather biased if you ask me. He's not saying it's ok to pay out bonuses with tax payer money.

  • The title of the video says nothing about taxpayer money.

Actually, you proved that you have only been educated in keynesian economic school of thought, and not austrian. Here in the USA we ONLY teach keynesian, and therefore, many fall for the same lies. They use their ability to "protect" and keep us "safe" against us, and it always results in hurting liberty and freedom of choice. Do some research on austrian economic theory and FDA corruption.

  • Pawlenty of bull crap! He is a criminal and should be treated as such!

  • this guy is really hypocritical, repubs always say small gov, yet he dont mind bailing out banks, with no responsibility, sounds to me alot like another form of big gov to me...

  • Next time I take a loan from one of these banks- do I have to pay it back? its my fucking money. If government didn't have a role in business- to some degree- we would have no minimum wage, no OSHA, no protection via the FDA. The pure econimic model of social responsibility has been dead for a long time and we are better for it. Pawlenty sucks.

  • and this is why he will never be president... because when it comes right down to it, hes right we never should have bailed out the banks, but on the same token, if the banks are going to give huge bonuses, we should ask for all of the money we gave them at 1000% interest and punish them for being dumb, and pissing the masses off.

  • But lets pump 5 mil into taxi service in Mn. There is no way that cuts can't be made, that won't hurt those in needs.

Just another guy with "reform the system", when we know we're left with no hope of change.
