Time lapse taken from my car on June 29th 2009, on a 7 hour drive from Lakewood, WA to Moscow, ID (I'd just arrived in Lakewood, then turned around and came back, 16 hours total). Time lapse plays at about 90X actual speed.
Music is "Boards of Canada - Open the Light"
Shot from my Canon 400D w/Sigma 18-200mm lens, external power adapter and external intervalometer on a Panavise suction mount mounted, inverted behind the passenger's side visor. Speeds change on a few occasions because the camera's buffer would fill and it would start missing intermittent shots, sometimes every other one, and I would have to adjust the intervalometer to correct it. Exposure was manually set at the beginning of the trip which accounts for why it didn't change with lighting conditions. Ran it through a Deshaker pass in VirtualDubMod to smooth out what could be smoothed out.
A little less than half-way through I get to my stopping point in Ellensburg, WA to refuel and have a wee. I was really tired up to this point and didn't think I could make the second half right away (really 4th quarter, since I'd made the drive in the opposite direction a few hours earlier), but then bought my old stand-by, beef jerky, which kept me fueled for the remaining 4 hours of the drive. Seriously, try it.
Route taken was Lakewood, WA to I-5 North, to Highway 18 East, to I-90 East, to WA-23 South, to US-195 South to Moscow, ID.
@snoopdogg123123 Highway 26 is a little bit faster but every time I take it I get keep getting stuck behind trucks and have to keep passing, which is tedious at best, and makes it feel longer than it actually is, but when there's a lot of truck traffic it doesn't provide an advantage. On I-90 I can just cruise and get lost in whatever I'm listening to and it goes by really fast. Plus I love driving on WA-23.
I guess this should all be past tense, I live in Texas now.

ummm, to cut off about an hour, you can turn off on highway 26 just across the bridge from vantage, that will take you 2 hours east to colfax, and through pullman to moscow, it only takes about 3 hours for me, and i live in palouse

Awesome!
:D
I even recognized the streets at the beginning. It's great scenery, even if it is the freeway...Washington's a pretty state. :) And you went over the mountains, right? Because I don't recognize any of the desert-area, which usually means that it's Eastern Washington.

What do you think about your 400D and Sigma 18-200? Do you like this?
