The Last Star-Fighter F-104 -ITALY

The wonderfull Lockheed Aircraft Supersonic JetFighter (1320 MPH max. speed)with one General Electric JT9-GE-11A Turbojet with afterburner system.The F-104G version sold well amongst NATO air forces where these high-speed fighter-bomber variants continued in service with most operators until the late 1980s; the Italian Air Force examples being the last to be retired in 2004. Many air forces using F-104s eventually replaced them with the F-16 or Panavia Tornado.taly lost 137 (38%) of its F-104s in 928,000 flying hours (14.7 aircraft every 100,000 hrs). The F-104 was officially retired from AMI service during a large ceremony at Pratica di Mare in 2004. Lockheed F-104 denominación USAF Starfighter es un caza interceptor ligero, construido por la fábrica Lockheed de Estados Unidos y por otros países bajo licencia. Por sus especiales características de diseño (poca envergadura, perfil agudo y altísima velocidad) se le llamó el cohete pilotado.EE.UU. fue el operador principal. En Canadá se le denominó CF-104, en España C-8. Además lo utilizaron Alemania Federal, Bélgica, Holanda, Italia, Dinamarca, Noruega, Grecia, Turquía, Taiwán y Japón.
