i have the best idea watch the vid thumbs it up and go surfing/kiteing/snowboarding/enjoy life no ONE/anthing is getting anywhere witht talk like so VVVVV :P
Gypseyguy, fellow kite surfer or not what an arrogant dousche - people who think they know it all suck. Great vid (the whales couldnt care less and so couldnt the authorities)
Listen Buddy, do you realise that I said right from start that I am also a kitesurfer? That means, I know when someone is trying to get a picture of the whales or not... You think this footage is incidental? So be it... I have no concern that the kiter will hurt the whales, only that postings like this will get kiters banned from more beaches. See original post. Tell you what, you win converse, okay?Ciao
its just YT and, well, yeah) its been cool having an internet conversation with a yachtmaster from false bay. And please dont make this a dick measuring contest, cuz the real issue is not about us. and again, i never said ur sea experiences were any less than mine, its you who attacked me on that 1st, assuming that i knew nothing, so i simply explained (and probably shocked you, judging from ur inital assumptions) my everyday experiences. lastly, Dont assume, especially from some1 YT user name
Its simply just different. now I am not saying that i am better than you, just that our ocean experiences differ, and we can each give valuable insight to ocean type questions and situations. so to conclude, you should really try not to assume things about people, insult people for no reason, and you should read descriptions, cuz it turns out, that you actually do NOT know everything, and maybe, just maybe you can be wrong. well, if you really are what you say you are (and im not saying you not
the whole point i called you out was that this guy did not intend to get that close to whales, he stated it in his description. so you were wrong, and i was right. You then continue to change the subject and attempt to criticize my credibility and insult me. You are far to arrogant for your own good. you act like you are better than me, and the fact is, your not. And me surfing in pismo does mean something, being in the ocean with wildlife every day. you just are in a boat, or diving underwater,
Boet, let me see...I live & work in False Bay, South Africa. Crossed bay this weekend and saw amongst other:common-dusky-&-bottlenose dolphin, brides-southern right-&-humpback whales, cape fur-and-common seals, 1200lbs sunfish, cape gannets, african penguin. Saw orca breach few weeks ago. Guess my 8 Trans-Atalantic crossings doesnt mean anything compared to surfing in Pismo, neither does fact that I'm yachtmaster by trade, avid diver, etc? Glad to hear you guys see oceanlife that side, enjoy ;)
Yes, ive seen plenty of whales. I live on the beach in Pismo, CA. I surf every day and am around Dolphins, sea otters, sea lions, sting rays, sharks, fish, crab, and yes, ive seen one pod of whales while surfing (It was way cool, it was way far, but saw one jump) . I have also seen plenty while fishing and boating to the CI. Ive "logged" about, lets see, going on 3 years at Pismo, and 7 more in Ventura. so yeah, I think i know what im talking about. fricken gypseys...
Anybody that gets towed behind a boat...dont get real answer...silly wakeboarders ;) Ever been in the ocean, ever seen whales other than on TV? I've spent well over 500days, logged, at sea in last few years...I think I know what I'm talking about, okay?
read his description in the original video: Although I ended up riding pretty close to them, this encounter was unintentional. When the whales showed up in front of me, it was totally unexpected and I purposely went downwind to avoid them. The 4th whale that swims just below me was too submerged at that time for me to see it. I've posted this vid b/c I find it spectacular, but its not intended to encourage any1 to approach whales .
Oh, and dont give me the "oh, I didnt know story"...Idiot.
