Runaway Train (Andrei Konchalovsky, 1985) - Theatrical Trailer

The trailer to Russian emigrée Andrei Konchalovsky's 1985 action film "Runaway Train". Starring Jon Voight and Eric Roberts, both in Oscar nominated performances. Based off a screenplay by Akira Kurosawa, rewritten by Eddie Bunker.

Akira Kurosawa originally planned to make it his American debut in the mid-1960s, with Henry Fonda and Peter Falk in the leads. A snow storm in the films upstate New York location, as well as the debacle behind Tora, Tora, Tora, grounded all of Kurosawa's plans to a halt.

The only reason this movie failed at winning best picture is due to the horrible acting that occurs in the railway control office. Everything else, the prison and train scenes are just breath taking.
