Obviously you are not aware of how waves are formed. waves are formed hundreds of miles away by wind, not the wind at the beach itself. Look up words like "fetch" and ground swell etc. waves formed by local wind are called "wind waves" and are generally smaller and have very little power behind them. Hope you learn something ;)
