Odd, Dan O Bannon told Tom Weaver that he had not seen or read any sci fi/horror material before writing Alien and was pretty miffed when people started saying "This scene is from Planet of The Vampires, this is from It! The Terror From Beyond Space, This is from Shivers, This is from Night Of The Blood Beast" ect and denied he knew anything of the genre. So it's odd David says Dan spoke of Shivers.
