Chapter 3
Never Alone

Normal POV
Nick ran over to Josh pushing the strangers out of the way. Nick already had tears in his eyes looking at Josh. He was weak and fresh bruises covered his face and arms. Nick cradled Josh in his arms.

Sam: Mom?

Joshs voice was weak and his throat was dry.

Jonah: No. Its me Jonah. *Thinking* wait is that right? Oh well.

Sam: Hey. Are we going home yet?

Jonah: Dont worry. It going to be Ok.
Sam: *starting to cry* No its not, I hurt so bad. I hurt everywhere, make it stop.

Jonah: Shhh. Just get some rest. Itll get better.

Josh soon fell asleep again from the exhaustion. Then Nick realized that he and Josh werent the only ones in the room.

At the hospital

Normal POV
Mr. Jonas was the first one to break the silence in the room.

Mr. Jonas: The cops had already talked to him. If he did do it dont you think that the police would have figured that out?

Kevin: Dad. Listen to them, I think they are onto something.

Mr. Dawson: I think that we should get sheriff Rawlings down here. It wouldnt hurt.

Mr. Jonas: Yeah. I guess it wouldnt and Ill call David as well.

Mrs. Jonas: Come on honey the kids need there rest lets get some coffee and then well call.

The adults said there farewells to the kids one last time and went downstairs to the cafeteria.

Codie: I dont think they believe us.

Kevin: Well would you believe someone if they told you me or Joe had done something like that?

Codie: I guess not.

Codie laid back down on the bed and Joe sat down. Kevin began to pace the room. He was trying to think of a plan or something to say. Then it hit him.

Kevin: Well if our parents wont help us then well just have to do it ourselves.

Joe: What? Did you hit your head?

Codie: You think we can save them and bust David. Alone?

Kevin: Were not alone. We have each other.

Joe: And Tatiana

Codie: and Ridge *blushes*

Joe: *Rolls his eyes* So whats the plan?

Kevin: Im working on it.

Joe: Well you should work fast. You know before the adults get back with the sheriff and David.

Codie: Ill call T and Ridge
Joe: and Ill find us some clothes.

With Nick

Normal POV
Nick turned still cradling Josh in his hands. There were a boy and a girl around there age sitting looking at them.
Jonah: Who are you?

The boy: Im Ben and This is Julia.

Jonah: Im Jonah and this is Sam. Why are you here?

Ben: I could ask you the same.

Jonah: Our dad sold us, or hes going to.

Nick hadnt realized he had so easily called David his dad. Or how easy it was to say that he was Jonah and Josh was Sam. The longer he was away from home the more he was lied to the more confused he was.

Ben: He sounds like a great guy. I was walking home from school one day and surprise!

Julia: I was bought but after spending some time here they are selling me, again.

Jonah: This is wrong.

Ben: It happens all the time. Ive meet so many kids while Ive been here. Its a regular business.

The door to the basement and they heard heavy footsteps walking down and then the bright lights filled the room. They all shielded their eyes.
