Chancellor Alistair Darling is under pressure to get Britain's spending deficit under control while still offering pre-election cheer. . Follow us on twitter at http://twitter.com/itn_news .
Darling is dull BUT safe. If this choice has to be between him and Boy George then Darling wins hands down. But I would rather have Vince Cable as chancellor.
I heard about the Stamp Duty break for first time buyers spending less than 250k I thought 'great'! For mortgage purposes, a first time buyer is someone who's not owned a property for 3 years or more. Unfortunately, New Labour's definition of a first time buyer excludes anyone who's ever owned a property, anywhere in the world. So the reality for anyone who's been renting for the past few years, is that Labour's Stamp Duty break means ABSOLUTELY FUCK ALL. Thanks for nothing, you cunts.
@tommydoing i don't trust an of them, they are hardly human. They have the law in their hand and can make good changes but chose not too year after year, decade after decade
they are failures in doing their jobs that is beneficial to the common man
'efficiency savings' ? sack the lot of them and use the money from their second homes, expenses and pathetically high salary sensibly to build affordable housing and assist the poor and pensioners
bet this guy dosen't go home and eat beans on toast for dinner like the poor do (if they can afford beans that is)
@zzzoe11
I would trust any one but Darling.
Another smoke and mirrors budget.
Thousands are being sacked and workers living standards have been cut by this budget.
Yet he stands and smiles and denies this a typical snakeoil salesman.
