It was not a good year for Chuck. He was one of the few Democrats who lost his bid for re-election in what was otherwise a landslide year for his party.

• I think it’s fantastic that Joe Biden sees a person first for who he actually is, and sees past any physical disability.
Joe Biden's point was to honor Chuck Graham, and he did so, forgetting any physical limitations he had.
We could all take a lesson from this, and rethink the way we define, identify and refer to people with disabilities and limitations. How often we note a person's disability before we recognize him/her for the person they actually are.

I was at this event, and it is pointless to try to reason with the nit witted comments here. Biden simply had a list of names to recognize, had no idea and COULD NOT SEE that this man was in a wheel chair. Neither could I from where I was standing. It was an HONEST MISTAKE, a gaffe nonetheless, but he recovered nicely, and Im sure he felt bad when he said it.
