Don Baird began his study of martial arts in 1962 and since then has spent his entire life honing his skills and knowledge. After producing several outstanding champions, Baird devoted himself to helping his community and was appointed technical advisor to a Southern California police department. He spent more than a year doing research and technical development and spent literally hundreds of hours riding on patrol. Together with Officer Brent Ambrose, head of SWAT for a local California police department and one of the country's most respected authorities in self defense training for police officers, he developed Hands On Police Defensive Tactics.
In Hands On, Baird and Ambrose reveal a very simple and effective method for overcoming and controlling violent suspects or attackers that can be mastered by anybody, regardless of size and strength. Police officers and civilians alike will find Hands On invaluable in the real world, where the effectiveness of the technique can often mean the difference between life and death.

A police officer doesn't always have the luxury to set up an encounter. When it comes to using his strong hand, that would probably be best considering you want to immobilize the suspect as quickly as possible. And using your preferred hand is more natural to do, especially when under stress.

  • not the best move, always try to have something betwen you and your suspect in this case, the first suspect, also, try not to use your strong hand for the inmovilization, cuz if your strong hand is bussy, how are you going to reach your gun??

  • smart move,

  • I like... well done and smooth.
