A condensed, 'mini' version of TOTP was broadcast in 1978 to accomodate live coverage of European football between Real Madrid and Accrington Stanley. Kid Jensen presents Showaddywaddy, The Sex Pistols, Dr Hook, Elvis Costello, Legs & Co and Abba - sounding like you've never heard them before!

  • Showaddywaddywaddywaddy singing, 'Oo-wapa-do-wapa-dobby-do.' The Sex Pistols', Johnny. 'Pitkin', Rotten singing, 'Mr. Grimsdale!!' I always thought Dr.Hook was the character out of Peter Pan, and never understood why he wasn't dressed as a pirate on TOTPs. Elivs Costello appearing again, without Bud Abbott. How I used to sit and watch legs & Co, every week is anyone's guess. And ABBA, 'not Alan Partridge', perform one of their bestestest songs before Accrington Stanley thrash Real Madrid.

  • @JFredUK Yes, it's a pity we didn't get to see the football...

  • Haha! As brilliant as ever. Rod Stewart looking good.

  • @brasseye25 That's actually Mr 'Mike's Carpets' from Leeds!

  • Loved the Elvis C bit!

  • @MrElliotpaige I love the early Elvis, so I couldn't resist a crack at him!

  • @Agaricfly68 I always strive for accuracy, in particular each Showaddywaddy song having a moment where the drummer gets to shine in the spotlight!

  • Funny as always! :)
