  • In 1954 I lived in a little house in Grooms tract, off Rhodes Road, I was told it is now part of the preserve, house is gone. The memories of those few months have stuck with me. The adventures my sister and I had were all we had, no neighbors to play with but we made believe and brought it to life. We created a castle in the farmer's alfalfa field, twirled in the meadows, followed the creek, had a picnic on a hill, and more. I've written my childhood memoir of those days. Donna Kohler
