Used a 94 f700 as a donor vehicle and put the 5.9 cummins diesel into a 56 ford f600. used a fuller fs 5306 6 sp trans. out of a 95 f750, 3.31 ratio dana 80 rear end out of a 99 freightliner. The truck is geared to cruise at 1800rpm at 62 mph with the aux. trans in direct.

  • you dont have to use the clutch?

  • @ExitMediaProductions You can shift without the clutch by matching the engine speed to driveline speed. Its easier to do while up shifting. Notice I ease off the accelerator and pull the shifter out of gear, then as the rpm is falling I shift into the next gear when the engine rpm and driveline rpm match..(Its a learn by doing thing) You can shift faster using the clutch but its more fun to shift without it.. owning an old truck is all about fun, or in some cases fund$ Thanks for watching

  • what year of frame is the body sitting on?

  • @1988diesel The truck is all 56 ford except the engine trans and rear end. I concidered puting the 56 body on the 94 f700 frame, but I'm glad I did not. I like that its an old truck with a new heart and longer legs.... likes to get on the freeway and run!

  • I never get tired of looking at this.

Any plans on paint or just leave the patina?

    Nice old truck Reno.

  • @norcal45gpw No plans to paint it. I like that it looks its age... if it were all bright and shiny it would'nt make it more fun to drive just more expensive.

  • @stv95yz801 Just not enough room

  • i would pay 4 ride on...

  • is there an advantage to running the intercooler above the engine or was there just not enough room?

  • Love the old ford and nice engine pick with the ole 12 valve. But we need some video of the aux shifting man lol nice truck well done sir!

  • shinier than a whistle inside! nice rig

  • @ExitMediaProductions only if you do it right and don't grind the gears to dust lol

  • need another vid of you but use the aux stick dammit! put a load behind the ol' girl and show us your aux shifting prowess - not enuf action.

but she's a beaut there man, bravo. *two thumbs up*

  • Great engine/trans combo! Especially the P-pumped Cummins!! Also, nice gear floating as well, real truck drivers only the use the clutch to get going in low.
