An inside look at the recording of Blackie & the Rodeo Kings upcoming release "Let's Frolic". In January 2006 Stephen Fearing, Colin Linden and Tom Wilson headed to Woodstock, NY and the Bearsville Studio to make a new B&RK album. Joined by musical friends Malcolm Burn, Garth Hudson and John Whynot they recorded 28 tracks over 14 days in ultimately what would become the last full recording session at this world famous studio. Anchored once again by the dynamic duo rhythm section of Johnny Dymond on bass, Gary Craig on drums and longtime friend and musical guru Richard Bell on keys - this epk is a treat to see how a band like Blackie and the Rodeo Keys takes an organic approach to the creation of their music. Look for "Let's Frolic" in stores and online Sept. 12, 2006.
@mewize Young musicians must earn their place, the same way every other musician does. Each member of BARK has worked tirelessly to earn their place. Additionally, being a musician is not about 'making it' it's about making music with people you love and respect and doing it for the pure joy of playing your instrument.

These guys are legends..yes..I agree...but now they need to step aside and let younger players play through...help them and nurture them...guys like these keep playing with the other professional session musicians and never give the young blood a helping hand,..it is all about keeping there legend alive...they need to be playing with the new blood...not a seventies legend...move on guys..you are stifling your own creativity!!

Tom Wilson needs a radio show I could listen to his voice for hours and him talking about music

I'm starting to become a Tom Wilson fan & i met him a few times over the years but one of my greatest thrills was sitting in with his band at the Dakota Tavern three eeks ago doing Matchbox with his band Lee Harvey Osmond and those boys really rocked that song out. I give Tom many thanks for letting me sit in with his group and I like to see more of him.

These guys are awesome! Missed a date with them last February (2007) because I fell off of my house and broke both of my legs. The legs hurt, but what hurt more was noe being able to attend their concert, which I had looked forward to for weeks!

Other than Neil Young, I can't think of anyone better that this country has ever produced.....and Canada has produced some amazing talent. Carry on boys.

Without a doubt, these extremely talented individuals, when writing and playing together, are the greatest band Canada has produced since "The Band". They are an amazing example of how differing musical styles can meld to create a truly fresh and innovative style unlike any other. Thank God the music of Willy P. brought them together for the world to enjoy.
