We learn a lot of lessons in life. Some are instant, like causing a car crash whilst playing with a mobile phone, or saying 'I hate you' when you don't really mean it. Some lessons come into fruition over a long period of time. To me, this song is pretty self-explanatory. Nonetheless, it's about a girl whom I've known for a long time, whom I've forever seemingly been in love with. Fortunately, for me, I possess a trait that enables me to let go of someone whom does not feel the same. I feel empathy for those who cannot let go of someone as easy as this, their first love, for example. So I eventually let it go and actually learnt a major lesson from it and am extremely happy that we are still friends. The musical theme and production in this song was inspired by my love of John Lennon and Funk music. I always try to write something that sounds fresh, and for me replacing a major chord with a major seventh and utilising diminished harmony, gives the song that freshness.

"Volume two ...for her" was Produced, Engineered and Mixed by mcArtney and recorded in Newcastle and Sydney, Australia, between 2008 and 2010. Except 'Half empty love story', Produced, Engineered and Mixed by mcArtney & Brett Adrien, recorded in a tunnel somewhere in Newcastle, Australia, on a Sunday night in April, 2010.
