Pushkar is a holy city that has several claims to fame. It is oriented around the Pushkar Lake where ghats (steps) rise up out of the lake's edge up to temples. There are over 400 temples in Pushkar but the most famous is the Brahman temple, unique in all of India. The medieval town is a maze of small streets and alleys packed with bazaars, cafes, and hotels. The entire town rests in a valley with temple-studded mountains. The town is famous for its Pushkar Camel Fair. It is a weeklong event that mixes the trading of an estimated 60,000 camels from the numerous Rajasthani villages across the state and a religious pilgrimage where two million people come to the lake to bathe on Kartika Purnima. Every year on the full moon of Kartika, Hindus come from all over India to cleanse their sins in the lake. They descend the ghats that completely surround the lake to wash.
@Rohit84up We don't do drugs, treat people as we liked to be treated and always asked permission to video tape people. We had a fantastic experience getting to know the people of India and learning about their culture. I felt that we were welcomed and treated very well. Hate is a nasty thing and you, Rohit84up, have demonstrated what hate is and looks like. Say no to hate!

@ifatsho I freaking hate these stupid foreigners who come to my country and video tape all these innocent people without them knowing or without their permission. I hope they star kidnapping these idiots for ransom that way they realize how it feels to hack someone's liberty. These westerns come here for cheap drugs and virgin girls and boys. I hope indian government start running a drug test on these bastards. Whites treats us like a shit when we go their countries...fucking assholes.

If I could give more stars I would!! This has got to be one of the very best videospot on YouTube. Seriously.
I am very fond of camels. They are beautiful, hard-working animals who can keep you alive when other animals can't survive themselves. To see the exciement of this fair really is a treat.

There is an estimated 30,000 camels in Pushkar for the fair. There are also horse, cows and goats and some 8000 tourists on a good year. The idea is to show off your animals and eventually trade and sell them. Pushkar is a very basic city unlike the westernized Delhi, Mumbai. This gathering is ancient and for the locals of Rajasthan... not the tourists! But, they enjoy it, too.
