www.fired.tv This week's job tip is always have your resume updated and ready to go! You can never predict a layoff, merger or hostile takeover. The news is filled with companies like Ford having mass layoffs. With all the easy-to-use word processing software available, there is no reason not to be ready.
Though there is no ideal way to prepare a resume, I recommend including a lot of numbers. For example, a 30% increase in productivity or a $50,000 cost savings. Also, as a rule of thumb, update your resume every six months. If your job has not changed much in that time, that may be a sign that it is time for a change. Remember, always have your resume updated and ready to go. www.fired.tv

Some bosses just want to find a reason to fire people. They might like to fire everybody. The reasons bosses give for firing people are avoiding a potential merger and when the merger finally happen they fire people because of a merger. Those reasons contradict each other. That means that firing is more satisfying to the boss than actually having employees around to do great work.
