This is a short illustration of the trip I took to Uganda in January 2009 to help construct the school my architecture studio designed during my last semester at the University of Virginia. Building Tomorrow organized the trip and raised money for the school's labor and construction materials, and the Ugandan education system will provide teachers once the school is completed later in 2009. The first several photos document the unfortunate 1-day layover I had in New York City, and the last few I took during a 7-hour layover in Amsterdam and during the flight over Greenland (which I apparently shared with Obama's grandmother and five other Kenyan relatives on their way to his inauguration!). The rest are from Uganda, to which I hope to return someday...
