This is an Alvin Ailey classic. Gospel music choreographed by the man himself way back in the 1960s. I've seen this live many times. Every single time the audience is on their feet & clapping hands at the end. It's like being in a church with a great gospel choir! Unreal spiritual energy.

ONE OF THE MOST ARTISTIC PIECES OF DANCE I HAVE EVER SEEN. IT IS AN OLD FILM CLIP, BUT STILL ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DANCES I 'VE SEEN IN ALL MY 52 YEARS. WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THIS LIVE.

@catimaeusIt would have been be nice if you had read and understand my post before trying - and succeeding - in being an ill-mannered would-be funny man with your ignorant reply. I am on the wrong side of the 'pond' to be able to get to see as much of the great American dancers and companies (in all dance styles) there are in the States and have to rely on occasional visits to Britain from US dance companies. But don't let the truth of my post get in the way of a supposed wisecrack, will you?
