Testing the Amperage draw on a single speed Taurus Electric fan. I'm using a 75mv 100 Amp shunt on a 75mv Ammeter to get the Current Draw.. This Electric Fan conversion is running on our 1978 Ford Pathfinder Quadravan 4x4 conversion with a 460 motor.
EDIT: I found out this fan is actually from a Lincoln mark VIII

  • @jeremyclarkson99: The Mark VIII fan I used was from a 1997 which is a single speed fan.

I did check another fan (friends truck that we did the install on) and his single speed off a 1997 (bought his fan new, mine came from a junk yard) pulled slightly less power. His pulled closer to 50 Amps at startup and continuous of just < 30 amps.

  • Perfect. Thanks for making a vid on this.... Good people do still exist on this crap hole planet.

  • I'm fairly new at this, but is the mark VIII fan not a dual speed? If so, would this have been on the high or low setting?
