The scene which was hidden from the American viewers for a decade. (It was added back in for some of the versions released after 2004.)
Besson's original movie idea was more violent, and the relation between Léon and Mathilda showed much less ambiguities in the first version of the script. However, Natalie Portman's parents did not let their daughter to play that part, so the director had to rewrite the script.

  • Pedophilia is defined as sexual feelings directed towards children. Leon's love was a platonic fatherly one; one that was not sexual. To all you dolts screaming out "PEDOPHILE!" like a pack of fools, I would suggest watching the film again, this time actually paying attention.

  • Natalie Portman did such a great job in this movie

  • @kingston554

    1:He is italian

2:If you think he's a pedophile watch the movie again.

  • @MrMcPang during many scenes, matilda seems to be much mature than leon, teaching him some aspects of life he forgot,or never discovered

  • the ppl who think this scene about pedo. they really have serious brain damage

  • Leon never had any family or real friends except Mathilda. He probably always wanted a kid or little sister to protect, take care of and love. This movie is a wonderful masterpiece that tells us that mass murderers are also human.

  • leon was more like a big brother than a father to her, he was incompetent at managing her in a fatherly way.

  • thisi is not a deleted scene it was in the movie.

  • @MrMcPang 100% in agreement. Leon is so protective. He's a killer, a loner, and this little girl falls into his lap. Leon has never had anything to love, he's never been loved, in any way. His natural protective instinct just starts to glow as Matilda comes into his life. NOT sexual in any manner, he relates to her, needs her, protects her like a daughter. The only human thing that has ever touched him. And, as such, his downfall. Awesome movie!
