I can't believe there are still clinicians whose first thought when confronted with sudden behavioural disturbances in a patient is not a CT or MRI scan.
My dad was diagnosed at 39 with this disease, he is now in a care home it all happend very fast in the space of few years he can barely recall who anyone is. This story is viturtually the same.
My brother died of Pick's 3 weeks ago. He was abandoned by his wife and children and his care was left to our parents who are in their 70s. Not only were they left to care for him alone, but his wife and children tried to have my dear and caring mother ARRESTED when she tried to drop off information about his disease on their doorstep because they have refused to believe in the true nature of his condition. He's dead now. I hope they now have all the proof they need about this disease
Hey my mother had this, she lived over 15 years with this. Together with my family we struggled with this. Please take time to understand the person they where. Life goes on and so will you. Please live on and enjoy your time now. Those who past before their time will always want you to live for them.

@clickforacookie I am so sorry. I just went through frontal temporal demenshia with my grandpa. His sense of what was right and what wasn't right to say went away and he would get mad and hide his keys and forget about them, he even left my mother at the grocery store because he forgot she was with him. It was the hardest thing that I have ever gone through in my life, and I hope and pray that no one else has this in your family ever.
