  • Hi Everyone,

    The recipe is

    1/2 cup dehydrated pumpkin

2 cups boiling water and let set for 20 min and cooled. Then add 1 can of EVAPORATED MILK, 3 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 cloves, 1/4 nutmeg, 1tsp cinnamon and hydrated cooled pumpkin in blender for 1-2 min. pour in shell and bake at 350 for 40-50 min. Sorry for the mistake. Tammy

  • How did you come to the ratio of one half cup of dehydrated pumpkin and then two cups hot water?

  • HI KatNip2007,

The pie recipe is my own and I went through many trails and errors. I found by grinding the dried pumpkin made it easier to store and hydrate into a prefect pumpkin paste for pie and squash. I hope you try this pie recipe and I promise a prefect pumpkin pie that your family will love. Tammy

  • Hi Tammy,

How long do you put the pumpkin in to cook ?

    Thanks

    Ruth

  • Hi Ruth,

20 min with a 5 pound weight on top. I can fit 3-4 pumpkins or squash in my pressure cooker. By leaving the skins, seeds and stems you help lock in more nutrients and they are much easier to cut, peel and scoop out. My family finished 4 pumpkin pies this Thanksgiving. Tammy

  • Can you dehydrate a can of pumpkin pie mix instead of cooking your own pumpkins?

  • Would drying and then grindeing work for sweet potatoes also?

  • How long and at what temp would I cook it in the oven? Thank you.

  • If I didn't want to make a dehydrated pumpkin pie, could I just dehydrate the pumpkin peeled & uncooked? I could just cook it when I re hydrate it, couldn't I?

  • i find it amusing that you call it a yellow neck squash. I've never heard it called that before
