BCU Turns Bad Sign Into Good Lesson

Bethune Cookman University officials said they turned the flap over a sign some students called racist into a learning experience for everyone involved.

University and student leaders met with the owners of a gas station and convenience store where last week students noticed what they called discriminatory signs posted there.

"We have to realize that we have cultural barriers in America that we have to get past," BCU Student Government Association Vice President Camille Burge said.
