NdR Una Soul Cake è una piccola torta rotonda che, tradizionalmente, veniva offerta per le anime dei morti.
La tradizione ha origine in Irlanda e Gran Bretagna durante il Medio Evo, e ci sono pratiche analoghe anche in sud Italia. Le torte, spesso chiamate ANIME, sono consegnate ai soulers, ovvero bambini che vanno di porta in porta il giorno di Ognissanti cantando e dicendo preghiere per i defunti. Ogni torta mangiata rappresenterebbe un'anima che viene liberata dal Purgatorio. La pratica di dare e di mangiare dolci è spesso vista come origine della moderna Trick or Treating(Dolcetto o Scherzetto). Le torte sono generalmente riempite con noce moscata, cannella, o altre spezie dolci, uvetta o ribes.
