Urban Farming: LA City Council votes on Fate of South Central Farm

http://savethefarmmovie.com Fate of Disputed South Central Farm site will be decided by LA City Council vote.

In 2003, the City of LA sold the South Central Farm to a developer in a closed door session. The farmers were evicted in 2006. LA City Council promised to set aside 2.6 acres for public park space.

Today the City Council committee will hear comments regarding Jan Perry's recommendation to remove the park space provision.

PIMA, a garment industry group, demands that it be removed as a prerequisite for purchasing the land to build a warehouse.

The LA City Council committee voted 4 to 0 to send the proposal to the full council.
