This clip is from an interview with Dr. David Valentine of UCSB. It was conducted by ProjectGulfImpact. If you're not familiar with them, please visit their website. (they also need donations!). They are doing incredible work, trying to help the people in the Gulf deal with the devastation caused by BP, and to tell the true story of the disaster.
Dr. Valentine confirms what everyone has suspected, that there is a huge plume of toxic oil and gas app 3000 feet below the surface of the Gulf. He estimates that this plume is up to 300 feet thick and contains 10,000 to 100,000 times the normal level of methane. This toxic mixture in the quantities involved would be catastrophic if exposed to air.
