@Urbanwild1 Get yer some Stove Piping metal at the hardware, and make one..lol..you can do it...your way..cheers
-
@Urbanwild1 Try finding a good size can, use some tin cutters, cut to size "you want". punch in holes, roll around yer cup or pot to size it, then seal together. punch holes for yer nails, pot stand.. (not galvanized - makes poison when burned ) voila..that should hold yah , till you find something better, or got the big frog skins (bucks) to waste on buying one. Cheers.

@chitown1966 Funny you should mention that...i made a lid/cup cover for my cup..only temporary, till I find something better..but all I did was find a tin coffee can, and worked at stretching the metal over and over like I did with the penny stove, to fit em together..using another can and voila..Now that I broke in my homey lid/cup..I can't part with it..cause why fix something , if it ain't broke..lol ..good Lid hunting chitown1966

@maxp00381 Sounds like a plan. Make sure, that where ever you settle , you learn that States, camping regulations, fire Regs, etc etc...I did a hike from Canada to Southern Ohio..got nailed, and jailed for fire, camping, and possession of knife, and other charges..so make sure you got the scoop on all that ...good luck.

@backpackinonline go for it, I would love to see it.

Great stove kit..Have you ever tried , Thermos cooking? It works well when your hiking, setting up camp, or relaxing by the fire, doing other bush chores. lol :-)) (boil water, put in thermos, add food (I like rice meals) ,Seal, 2-4 hours after hiking, exploring, setting up camp, shelter building, setting up your fishing bank lines, snares, springtraps, setting up yer emergecy signal fire, etc..You got yer meal cooked and time to relax..lol )

Good vid..suggestion..can you make a 3legg stick tripod, using duct tape for a Camera tripod?

Nice video. I am inspired to make a video of my backpacking cook kit.
I think it is very informative to see what works well and what we like.

Mike, Thanks for the response. I'm living in the US and love your Channel. I recently ordered the DD Tarp and its fabulous. The 3 meter square is larger than most offered here in the US. Thanks again for your videos. Between you, and Dave Canterbury, I'm re-learning a lot and gaining new bushcraft knowledge too. I'll be in the UK in October, Hope to find and purchase some of the products you use on in a shop on high street while there. Off to practice what I learned. Ciao

I just love that ashtray as a cover for the gsi cup. Could you tell us how you make the windscreen? What type of metal are you using. I really like this kit!
