"Everything I Own" is a song written by David Gates. Originally recorded by Gates's band Bread for their 1972 album Baby, I'm a Want You the single was recorded by (among others) The Connells, Jack Jones, Ken Boothe, Olivia Newton-John, Georgie Fame, Boy George, *NSYNC, Jude, Rod Stewart, Crystal Gayle, Nicole Scherzinger, Chrissie Hynde, Greg London, and Hernaldo Zuniga. Although the song is frequently interpreted as a romantic love song, Gates actually wrote the song as a tribute to his late father.

This is my own cover version and my way of saying "I love You Dad" before it's too late.

Andy, I've loved this song ever since I first heard it on the radio, when it first was released by Bread. His/Their music was simply beautiful and so well written.
