Erin McDougald sings at the Allerton Hotel Chicago

Nationally acclaimed Jazz Vocalist, Erin McDougald performs every Wednesday night (7pm-11pm) and every Saturday night (8pm-midnight) in the M Avenue Club of Chicago's historic Allerton Hotel. This jazz supper-club is the city's premier listening venue, featuring McDougald's outstanding groups (featuring, Wednesday nights: Rob Block on piano and guitar, Cliff Schmitt on bass and renowned special guest artists every week as well as Saturday nights: Joan Hickey, pianist, Cliff Schmitt, bass and the highly acclaimed Joel Spencer on drums). M Avenue is the only jazz club in Chicago that has no cover charge (however, a $20 per person food or drink minimum is enforced). Hailed by critics in the US and abroad for her "Evocative artistry" (Chicago Music Guide), Jazz Improv magazine concurs "McDougald's voice is a rare instrument to be savored; sweet and spicy in equal measure... thrilling phrasing... worldly... gorgeous... positively mercurial". Her albums have received international airplay and distribution and her tours/concerts include performances (past and upcoming with) 7 time Grammy winner Paul Wertico (drums) and trumpet genius Nicholas Payton among others. McDougald also performs regularly at the Underground Wonder Bar, and frequently at the famous Jazz Showcase, Andy's Jazz Club and numerous other jazz venues.

The song "Small Day Tomorrow" from McDougald's 2006 CD release MEETING PLACE is featured in this video, which was shot at the Allerton Hotel's M Avenue Club by director Rocco Cataldo of Potenza Productions (Michael Kwielford director of photography; Chad Ericksen, editor) in September 2009.
