I think that's what they were going for. Imagine sitting there and all of a sudden this strange new show comes on. "Hm, a bunch of metal things. What the hell is this crap?"... then the camera pans out to reveal Alfred Hitchcock's silhouette and the theme song starts playing. "HOLY FUCK IT'S ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS!!"

Whoever owns the rights might want to release the first season on dvd, if they haven't already. I think it would do pretty good business domestically and abroad. A bit of modest, well-placed advertising....I bet they'd sell 100's of 1000's of copies.
