In '73 before 'PC' times we had a music class where we could take our own sounds in, play them to the rest of the class and we would discuss it afterwards. This track nearly got me beaten up by the class skinheads 'cos they accused me of being homo for playing it...and for having long hair...it also got me my first girlfriend who chased them off and then went out with me 'cos she thought I was 'interesting'!
Thanks Pink Fairies!

My Brit boyfriend brought Never Never Land to me as a gift after a summer apart. No idea where he might be now, but I still Love this Band!

@solidbrassunicorn Even Larry could do puns! Many happy memories of this track/album, divided loyalties among my group of fairy freaks. Why did Rudoplh leave? Was he a bastard for so doing? Was Larry W any good? What was this song about? etc. We decided in the end although it wasn't Never NL or Wabos it was still the band & we still loved it. Ahhh yesterday, Kipper ties, split knee loons, Temple ball and red Leb, party 7's, motorbikes....... before career, wife, kids, mortgage & hair loss!

@fattwat1 Yeah fifty five too, nearly fifty six, saw them as well in Coventry. Fantastic live. Loved them. Cheers. Take care.

This is a masterpiece

"they don't know that I'm just after their guys" is wrong, according to a Larry Wallis interview - it's "I'm just after their guise", meaning women have more choice of clothes etc. than men.
Paul Rudolph is Canadian, yes. The Pink Fairies didn't spend a lot of time in the USA - I don't think they ever went there, however the Deviants did. (The Deviants were the pre-Pink Fairies group).

Nice bit of info on the Larry Wallis interview, cheers!
OK, the Deviants was the name they played under in San Francisco and Seattle, but as the personnel - Paul Rudolph, Russell Hunter and Duncan Sanderson were, along with Twink, the first Pink Fairies incarnation on Never Never Land...... I think you can allow me some poetic license... ;)

Very much so, but spent a lot of time in the States. I believe Paul Rudolph is Canadian, could be wrong though....

This was really good car driving adrenalin music. What a great bass line. Saw them with The Hawks at Wembley Party in1973. Great times.

Yeah, I was there for that too. Remember they were billed as 'Danny and the Racing Cars' - nobody had ever heard of 'em - then the Compere said 'you might know them better as 'The Pink Fairies' the place went mental....
