AT LAST I have some good news to report, and it's official.

(wouldn't you know it, the irony of the timing is described as a Christmas present for Prime viewers)

CEO of Prime Television Doug Edwards announced on Monday, December 21 that SevenTwo will come alive on Prime Television at 9am on Wednesday, December 23.

Official source that confirms this:

Channel 7TWO on PRIME, the newest digital channel on your free-to-air TV, launches tomorrow at 9am on Channel 62.
This channel will be the new home for premiere episodes of programs like Lost, Ugly Betty, Heroes and 24.
Programs including mob hit The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Murphy Brown will screen on the channel alongside new, primetime episodes of The Jay Leno Show, five nights a week.

The new station will feature British television from A Touch of Frost, Prime Suspect, Judge John Deed, Rosemary & Thyme and Minder to premiere episodes of Fifth Gear, Heartbeat, Holby Blue,Benidorm, Gavin & Stacey and Britain's Best Dish.

Cooking programs from the world's top chefs including Jamie Oliver, Curtis Stone, Rick Stein, Ainsley Harriott and Gary Rhodes will feature on Monday to Friday afternoons.

A broad mix of new and classic programs - including Coronation Street, Emmerdale,Shortland Street, The Martha Stewart Show, Home and Away, The Early Years, Sons andDaughters, Magnum PI and Moonlighting - completes the channel's daytime schedule.

PRIME Television CEO Doug Edwards said the company had signed an exclusive agreement with the Seven Network to deliver the new channel to regional homes in NSW, ACT, Victoria and the Gold Coast.

"Over the last few weeks, PRIME has finalised massive infrastructure changes that not only make possible the launch of 7TWO on PRIME but also prepare us to deliver even more services to regional Australia," he said."

  • ur quote "SevenTwo gave us new hope......

.....but not if you dont live in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Darwin or Hobart. " isnt entirely true because all of Regional QLD got 7Two the same day it launched in the capitals.

  • Yeah, Queensland (not just Brisbane) has Seven Queensland (STQ) instead of crappy Prime, lucky buggers!

  • I have heard that Prime's got a Xmas present for their viewers and it concerns 7Two On Prime...

  • Oh my God it is true......

    iPrime website even says so.

    Right before Christmas.

You wouldn't read about it, would you.....
